New research refutes claim that mummified head belonged to King Henry IV of France

New research led by KU Leuven professor Jean-Jacques Cassiman exposes erroneous conclusions in forensic studies by Spanish and French researchers. They incorrectly ascribed a mummified head to Henry IV and a bloody handkerchief to Louis XVI.

Two purportedly royal relics recently surfaced on the collectors' market in France: a mummified head and a handkerchief with blood residues. The head was said to be that of French king Henry IV and the blood on the handkerchief that of King Louis XVI. This was confirmed by Spanish and French researchers, who reported positive DNA matches. Several historians voiced doubts about these claims and enrolled the help of forensic identification specialist Professor Jean-Jacques Cassiman and his team to investigate the relics.

Professor Cassiman's team compared the published DNA results from the head and the blood in the handkerchief with DNA samples obtained from three surviving descendants of the house of Bourbon, progeny of Henry IV (see Figure 1). The genetic relationship between these three Bourbons, who come from different branches of the family line, is fixed on the basis of research carried out on the Y-chromosome. The DNA comparison found that there was no relationship between the Bourbons and the blood on the handkerchief, nor the mummified head. Two breaks in the biological line on the paternal side would have had to occur in order for the head and the blood to belong to the two French kings.

Likewise, there was no evidence on the maternal side (based on the mitochondrial DNA testing) suggesting a positive identification of the relics. The mother of Henry IV, Jeanne III d'Albret, is related via Anna of Habsburg in an unbroken maternal line to the Habsburgs, including Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVII (see Figure 2). Here, once again, there would have to have been at least one break in the maternal line for the head to belong to King Henry IV. The probability that one of the women in King Henry IV lineage was not the real mother of her daughter, or of the king himself, is virtually non-existent.

Furthermore, DNA tests of the blood on the handkerchief show with 84.2% certainty that the blood belonged to a person who did not have blue eyes. It is known that King Louis XVI had blue eyes.

Based on these conclusions, the team of Professor Cassiman is unable to confirm the conclusions of their Spanish and French counterparts, given the available data. The blood on the handkerchief almost certainly does not belong to Louis XVI. Too little DNA remains were found on the mummified head to confirm or deny that it is the head of Henry IV, although historical data makes this identification unlikely.

According to the researchers, the study shows that a reliable genetic identification of historical remains requires a DNA profile of the living paternal and maternal descendants of the 'donor' to which the remains purportedly belong.

Here are some articles I wrote during the last years, about Nostradamus, and how his prophecies maybe were not prophecies at all, and how they are still used to go into politics. Did Nostradamus foresee the election of Barack Obama and the End of the World in 2012? Was Nostradamus the author of the Prophecy of Orval and are some of his quatrains containing a code to locate the Bourbon War Chest?

The Aztec UFO Crash - an ebook by Richard Thomas

Before Roswell there was the Aztec UFO Crash... a report of a crashed flying saucer where the wreckage and alien bodies were seized by the military. But what is the truth? Experienced researcher and author Richard Thomas takes a new look at the controversial Aztec UFO Crash incident.

Everyone, both UFO believers and agnostics, have heard about the Roswell incident, the alleged recovery of a “flying disk” in the New Mexico desert by the US government in July 1947. Roswell has become a household name around the world and today the small town in the south western United States is synonimous with UFO wreckage, government cover-ups and alien autopsies. So important has the Roswell crash become, that this is often overlooked: the Roswell incident was not actually the first crashed saucer story to enter the public consciousness. That distinction belongs to another alleged UFO incident in the New Mexico desert, this time in 1948, the year after the Roswell incident, and near the town of Aztec.

First investigated by celebrity gossip columnist Frank Scully, the Aztec crash was one of three such crashes mentioned in Scully’s 1950 book Behind the Flying Saucers. In the book Scully revealed his sources to be a man called Silas Newton and a scientist named “Dr. Gee”, who supposedly had “more degrees than a thermometer”. According to these two sources, the flying saucers supposedly worked on magnetic principles. Although Scully’s flying saucer book sold very well (60,000 hardcover copies in 1950), the book was seemingly debunked in two well researched articles by San Francisco Chronicle reporter J. P. Cahn published in True magazine in 1952 and 1956. Now it is time to revisit the evidence and seek to uncover the truth in The Aztec UFO Crash by Richard Thomas (with free sample!).

The Female Pope - an ebook by Oliver Hayes

For centuries rumours and legends have swirled about that one woman did get to be pope in Rome. The Catholic Church has always denied the stories, but they refuse to go away. It is now time to look anew at these old stories and try to discover the truth that lies behind them...

Cover for 'The Female Pope - The True Story of Pope Joan'

For many centuries it was accepted almost without discussion that the priesthood, and pastoral work more generally, was exclusively a male domain. Women had a role within the Christian Church, as nuns or lay workers, but the giving of the sacraments was seen as a male preserve. In The Female Pope Oliver Hayes looks at the legends and uncovers the startling truth that lies behind them...

Leonardo Da Vinci, Paintings & Drawings - Art ebook by Daniel Coenn

Art eBook with Foreword and Annotations by Daniel Coenn, reproductions of Leonardo da Vinci masterpieces, date and interesting facts pages:

Leonardo, like his contemporary Christopher Columbus, possessed an insatiable curiosity and desire for discovery of unknown worlds. Only observation, says many times Leonardo, is the key to knowledge and understanding.

Throughout his life Leonardo seeks to understand and control the nature. He constructed machines and original installations built bridges, dissected human bodies and trying to break into the Providence of God.

But the whole time Leonardo knows perfectly well that nature is unpredictable, and God's provision is inaccessible to the human mind.

Advanced in years Leonardo left Italy to never to return there. Younger and more modern artists, such as Raphael and Michelangelo, already outshine his fame in the homeland. His journey ended in the French town of Amboise in the Loire valley. There he received full recognition and respect from the French king.

Leonardo recent years were not easy. He suffered a stroke, which means that he lost the use of his right hand. But Leonardo tries to collect thousands of pages of notes and drawings in one large encyclopedia. Many of his ambitious plans remained incomplete.

Leonardo died in his room at Clos Luce May 2, 1519.

He could be called "Master of everything", everything that exists in the Universe, for his art and his inventions.

Leonardo can be called the Son of God.

The Illuminati, an ebook by Adam Weishaupt

No secret society is more controversial than the Illuminati, yet almost nothing of the truth of this mysterious ancient Order is available in the public record. Propaganda, misinformation, disinformation, paranoia and downright fantasy are rife. Some have even described the Illuminati as pan-dimensional, shape-shifting Reptilians from another world!

The Illuminati have become the peg upon which anyone can hang their favorite and most outlandish conspiracy theories. They are the "men behind the curtain", the "ultimate puppetmasters", fascists, communists, bankers, Jews, monarchists, anti-monarchists, lizards, you name it. They support "big" government, high taxes and the sinister New World Order, based on a single global currency. They want to build death camps and reduce the world's population to one billion souls.

So much for the penny-dreadful nonsense churned out by the simple minded pied pipers of Conspiracy World.

The truth of the real Illuminati is enormously more fascinating. The present Grand Master of the Illuminati has authorized the release into the public arena, for the very first time, of the facts concerning the ancient Order.

Now you can discover for yourself the extraordinary nature of this secret society, its esoteric Gnostic and Hermetic religion known as Illumination, and how it represents the greatest hope for humanity in overthrowing the Devil-worshiping Abrahamic religions and the Old World Order of elite, dynastic families of privilege that run the planet, such as the Bush family, the Rothschilds and the British Royal Family.

It's time to build a meritocratic world, a world free of privilege and religious brainwashing, a world where the super rich are brought down to earth. It's time for a New World Order where humanity can devote itself to its true purpose: creating a Community of Gods, a Society of the Divine. Don't you want to join the greatest adventure in human history? The Illuminati offer nothing less than ultimate transformation, and the truth concerning the supreme object of humanity's spiritual quest - the Holy Grail itself.

Do not read this book if you are a closed-minded Abrahamist or a conspiracy theorist. This material is not for petty, cheap, narrow-minded religious fanatics and those who believe in Reptilians. We wish our books to be read only by rational, enlightened individuals seeking the truth.

The Holocaust was the systematic murder of six million European Jews by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party. The horrors of the Holocaust have documented been many times. Even those that were not killed, mutilated, or starved in concentration camps were stripped of their citizenship and their identities. The Nazis did not stop there, though. Hitler, in his quest to build an empire, planned and executed the most extensive theft of art and cultural treasures in history.

A group of art historians, museum curators, scholars, and others with an expertise in art accepted the enormous responsibility of traveling to the front lines of World War II in an effort to protect art before it could be stolen or recover the art that fell into the hands of the Nazis. Even more lent their expertise when the fighting ended, remaining in Europe for years after the war was over. They were called “Venus fixers” by the troops but have since come to be known as the Monuments Men.

Acting on orders from General Dwight D. Eisenhower, who had the backing of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, many of the Monuments Men – and women – put their lives on the line for art. By doing so, they preserved not just paintings, sculptures, and tapestries, but a significant portion of the culture that makes life worth living. As Mikhail Piotrovsky, the director of the State Hermitage Museum in Russia, said, “Art belongs to humanity. Art is what makes us human.”

This book dives into the fascinating history of one of the greatest treasure hunts of all time!

Discover all aspects of asteroids, comets, near earth objects (NEOs), and their impact threat to Earth in this massive, authoritative compilation of up-to-date official documents from NASA and other federal sources.

Discover all aspects of asteroids, comets, near earth objects (NEOs), and their impact threat to Earth in this massive, authoritative compilation of up-to-date official documents from NASA and other federal sources, with details about current tracking, detection, and survey efforts, spacecraft inspections of asteroids and comets, concepts for deflection of hazardous objects, and much more. There is coverage of the events of February 15, 2013, which were a stark reminder of the threat posed by space objects impacting Earth. The predicted close approach of a small asteroid, called 2012 DA14, and the unpredicted entry and explosion of a very small asteroid about 15 miles above Russia, have focused attention on the necessity of tracking asteroids and other NEOs and protecting our planet from them.

Contents include: 1. House and Senate Hearings on Asteroid and Space Threats, March 2013 * 2. Basic Overview * 3. Asteroids * 4. Comets * 5. Tunguska, Planetary Defense * 6. NASA Report: Near-Earth Object Survey and Deflection Analysis of Alternatives (2007) * 7. NASA Report: Near-Earth Object Survey and Deflection Study (2006) * 8. Potentially Hazardous Asteroid Workshop Findings (2012) * 9. Near-Earth Object Science Definition Team * 10. Natural Impact Hazard (Asteroid Strike) Interagency Deliberate Planning Exercise After Action Report, December 2008 * 11. Dawn and Vesta * 12. Deep Impact * 13. OSIRIS-Rex * 14. Stardust * 15. Impact Threats

Some of the specific topics covered include: the Congressional mandate to catalog NEOs; risk assessment and characterization; Goldstone and Arecibo radar; NEOO program; Air Force SST and Pan-STARRS; ATLAS telescope program in Hawaii; B612 Sentinel observatory; PHAs and PHOs; detection and mitigation efforts; Obama administration policies and budgets; USAF tracking; history of NEOs and life on Earth; predicted close approach of the Siding Spring comet to Mars in late 2014; latest assessment of the risk of 99942 Apophis; Toutatis; workshop findings on 2011 AG5; Hayabusa; orbit of Hermes; differences between an asteroid, comet, meteoroid, meteor and meteorite; Atiras, Atens, Apollos and Amors; Planetary Defense Conference, April 2009; major reports on deflection ideas, including nuclear subsurface, nuclear surface, nuclear standoff, kinetic impact, space tug, gravity tractor; and more.

The larger NEOs (those with a maximum physical dimension of more than a meter) are generally referred to as either asteroids or comets, while smaller objects are referred to as meteoroids. Large or small, they are all called meteors upon fiery transit of Earth's atmosphere. When pieces of a meteor survive transit through the atmosphere to strike the surface of the Earth, they are called meteorites. (Only the largest asteroids — those few with diameters in the range of hundreds of kilometers — are spherical. Smaller ones are of irregular shape.) Every day, a continual influx of these objects strikes Earth's atmosphere. Most of them are dust-sized particles, but they add up; it's been estimated that on a typical day, these particles total from 50 to 150 tons of matter. Asteroids of the order of a few meters in size strike the atmosphere roughly annually. Damage on Earth's surface is likely only when the kinetic energy of the object - the energy it carries by virtue of its mass and velocity when it enters the atmosphere - is in the range of a few hundred kilotons of TNT equivalent or above. (By comparison, the Hiroshima atomic bomb was roughly 13 kilotons of TNT equivalent.) Asteroids with this much energy are thought to strike the Earth only every 100 years or so. The more frequent, less energetic ones generally deposit that energy high enough in the atmosphere that no effects are felt at Earth's surface. The 1908 explosion over Tunguska in Siberia, which leveled trees over an area of more than 2,200 square kilometers (850 square miles), is thought to have been caused by a stony asteroid.

August 1974. Richard Evans was found dead in a city park of Mons, Belgium. In his hands: a Polaroid, showing a strange hippie girl… and then, in a secret compartment in his house, his grandson discovered a series of photographs, each one containing an image of the girl in the Polaroid, dated from August 1914 to 1964. It appears that during the Great War, Richard Evans worked as an agent for the British secret service and probably was involved in experiments with "black propaganda", which eventually would lead to some of the greatest myths of the Great War - the Hell Hound and the Angels of Mons, made famous by author Arthur Machen...
